Early morning rituals

The D Space

Fiona's Mom and Dad are visiting us for a month. Both Rohan and Ryan have stranger anxiety. Ryan more than Rohan, who appears to be scared only of Uncle Mario, and little else.

Ryan on the other hand, holds on very tight to Henry in the morning, and the moment he sees Fiona's Dad will start his whining. A little "eh he eh he.." at first (kinda neighing like a horse) and then a full bawl if Dad approaches him.

From this point on, he's attached to Mommy's hip, hanging on like a little chimpanzee
Fiona calls him her little "shepti" ("tail" in Konkani).
So Fiona will be holding Ryan, or rather Ryan's holding on to her for dear life, until i'm out of the shower; at which point Ryan gets unceremoniusly dumped into my arms.
Since i've got to get to work, and beat the traffic, I put Ryan on the bed, while getting dressed up.
Both Ryan and Rohan love playing and jumping on the king size bed. But surprisingly in the mornings, when i put Ryan on the bed he's very contemplative..
He'll look at the celing, and the fan, deep in thought..Sometimes he'll even scratch his head like Rodin's "Thinker"
You have to wonder what he's thinking

"Why is the world the way it is? "

"What is the meaning of life? "

" Where does the universe begin, and where does it end? "

"What can I do for world peace?"

Yeah Right...Who am i kidding...He's probably going ... "DOH......mmmmmm....MILK.........DOH.....mmmmmm.....MILK.......DOH...."

At this point Rohan will notice, from some corner of the house that Ryan is on the bed, and "Oh The Injustice of it all, Why am i not on the bed? " And so he will run and stand at the foot of the bed, and whine, while Ryan will give him his best, most content "ha ha sucker" pursed lip smile...

So i will then put Rohan on the bed...

By now I am dressed, and Rohan and Ryan realize that i will soon be heading to the door, so they both go the the edge of the bed, and threaten to dive for the (carpeted) floor...Looking between me and the floor...Threatening.." Look you'd better let us down, or we'll dive" Threatening..."And you know what Mommy will have to say about that....once she finds out we were on the bed...." Threatening..."You'd better let us down you big dummy..."

So i relent (not that I'm scared of Mommy, no really, I am NOT) and let them down at which point they race me to the hallway door that leads to the garage..

I then i have to explain to them that they *are not* going to work with me...And gently shove them out of the way before slipping out the door.
The boys, i assume then race to the main door, from where they will look out watching me make my escape to work...

This cycle happens every morning. And i havent got tired of it yet...

Bed Bath and Beyond

Rhea's first Field Trip

Rhea had her first "field trip" yesterday. It was to the Radi-Jazz Playnasium with the rest of her class.
We had four designated drivers, me being one of them, and I drove Rhea , Ashley, and Peyton (one of twin girls, peyton and morgan) to the playnasium.
Needless to say that 4 year olds were very excited and only Ashley had been there before. Its also fascinating how Ashley is a mini version of her Mom. She talks exactly the same way, and uses the same phrases. I guess Rhea does that too..
Once we reached there the kids had a ball. Radi Jazz has a "volcano' which is really a slope with a crater in which there are a number of sponge cubes, and these make up the lava in the volcano . This is where kids (and adults playing with them) can jump into. I played quite a bit with some of the kids, like Peyton, Josh and of course rhea, and some other random kids who kept pushing me into the "lava" and if they fell in they would pretend they needed help, and then pull me in as well. All in all we had a lot of fun . We were there from 10:00 to 1:00 and the three hours passed pretty quickly. With the kids running continuously for three hours, with only a snack and lunch break in between.
Next time, we will probably take rohan and ryan with us, cos they would love it too.
